Henry Styleman of Snettisham and Hunstanton was born on 25 June 1754 at Fakenham, Norfolk, the son of the Reverend Armine Styleman, and Ann Blakeway, daughter of Captain James Blakeway, Esquire, Royal Navy. He was educated at Harrow school and was admitted as a member of Caius College, Cambridge in 1773. He married firstly in 1780 Mary Gregg (1760-1807). Upon their wedding Henry commissioned the artist Johann Zoffany to paint a double portrait of them, now in the collection of the Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery. Following Mary's death in 1807 he married secondly in 1809 Emelia Preedy (1780-1873) who in 1815 bore him a son, Henry L'Estrange Styleman.  Henry was a J.P. in Norfolk and became High Sheriff in 1804. He died at his family home at Snettisham Hall on 25th March 1819. [Family history information from http://www.stillman.org/henr1750.htm]
